Many have written about the causes and consequences of the Covid tyranny, the "pandemia".  But we also need strategies for legitimate dissidence by the Covid sceptics and also for the Covid true believers who might, just might, be feeling a little queasy about the current direction of travel of the Covid State.

Covid and the McEwen Option

Once upon a time there was a politician called John McEwen.  He threatened to lead his Country Party out of a Coalition Government if the Liberals chose a leader he didn't like.  Today our very liberty is at stake.  Where are the modern day John McEwens willing to use hard power to make governments turn back?

Melbourne’s prestigious Newman College is showing open support for LGBTI students, while actively discriminating against those who uphold the Church’s teaching on sexuality. Newman College is a residential campus for Catholic University of Melbourne students and was established more than a hundred years ago.

Australia's Jonestown Moment

Donald Trump famously opined in the lead up to his memorable victory in 2016 that America had been led by “stupid people”. It seemed to resonate, because true. I wonder what Trump would make of today’s political, corporate and community leadership in Australia.

Gough, ScoMo and Santa

Much has been made of our current  Prime Minister’s absence from Australia during the ongoing and tragic bushfire crisis.  And now of his less than heroic performance since his conscience/political nous got the better of him and he decided to come back and face the fire.  Of course, he has been merely one of a number of politicians missing in action during the fires.  Much has been made of the NSW Emergency Services Minister being in London during, well, an emergency.  And not just any emergency.  Now the NSW Opposition leader has tiptoed OS to escape the furnace.  Are these people serious?

On Australia's Bushfires

What are we to make of Australia's bushfires?

Back in July, I wrote an article for The Remnant on a Queensland priest who publically admits to having been a Freemason for more than a decade. While that is shocking enough, the most disturbing part of this story was that the priest claims to have a letter from the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, giving permission for Catholics to become Masons. Now evidence has come to light which suggests that, in fact, this is the official policy of the ACBC.

The Commonwealth Government has released a second version of its draft legislation dealing with religious discrimination issues, for further comment before it is formally introduced into the Federal Parliament in the New Year. There are a number of important changes from the previous drafts which in my view make it a much better package of amendments. But there are areas for improvement.

I love my Catholic brothers & sisters in Christ so much. Christianity has so much to learn from them in this generation about our prophetic voice to the nations on issues of Biblical justice and in ministering to those affected by abortion. So it breaks my heart to see a moment of unfettered pagan idolatry at their Youth Festival in Perth in recent days.
