Chastity and Abortion: Interview with Jason Evert
World-renowned speaker, Jason Evert, was in Melbourne this week for a series of talks on the true nature of love. Jason has spoken to more than one million people about the virtue of chastity and has been a keynote speaker at five World Youth Days. He has written several books, including “Theology of the Body for Teens” and “How to Find Your Soulmate Without Losing Your Soul,” and has studied counselling and theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. It was my great pleasure to meet him and ask him a few questions about how a return to chastity can put the brakes on the abortion culture.
Preaching to an Intolerant Choir
Israel Folau is known for being one of the best rugby players in Australia. Folau is also a practising Christian who isn't afraid to give his opinion and express his religious views. He has been under fire recently - to the point of being accused of hate crimes - for publicly stating that homosexuality is a sin. Wayne Smith, of the Australian, complained that Israel Folau should stop 'preaching' if he wants to keep playing football. Former rugby player, George Gregan, agreed and suggested that it is inappropriate for Folau to put his beliefs on a huge platform - despite those beliefs being shared by millions of people, of many diverse religious persuasions.
Alfie Evans, Infanticide and Our Damnable Indifference
Some commentators - even Christian ones - place children such as Alfie Evans firmly in the category of 'hopeless cases with unrealistic parents.' Bu as stated in my own article on the subject, Medical Tyranny and Parental Authority, this case is more about undermining parental authority than about whether or not Alfie's life could have been saved, or even extended had it been managed differently. For every high-profile case like Alfie's there are many unknown ones in existence around us, with parents left to wonder exactly where, along the way, they lost control over their children's medical care. - Ed.
Teachers: The Red Cent Rules
There are older teachers around today that are as depressed about modern education as many of the Tavern's customers. Most ordinary punters, both dads and mums consumed with work, send their kids to what passes for schools, whether they like it or not, to have their little chaps and chapesses spend more time with a (very possibly) uneducated moron than they do with themselves. It is a bleak picture. Older folk remember many of their early years' teachers with affection and gratitude, but few kids today will have such pleasant memories.
'Safe Schools' and the Sexual Agenda Big Picture
The controversies over the so-called Safe Schools programs in Australia are simply a reflection of a much bigger war. For many decades now activists have sought to target our children especially through the school system. Various sex education programs and the like have been used to push radical sexual agendas. All this did not just happen. It has been promoted and pushed by sexual ideologies and ideologues who have been active since early last century. The sexual revolutionaries have been quite busy, and they helped pave the way for things like the contemporary Safe Schools programs.
5 Medical Reasons to Avoid Contraceptive Devices
All sources used in this article are either medical or secular, so there can be no accusation of a pro-life bias. Abortion providers and advocates are very eager these days to push Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (or LARCS) onto their patients. There have been more than a few studies on their use and uptake, with an abundance of advice for practitioners on how to increase their sales. It's been of particular interest to me, to note that abortion providers are very keen to fit women with LARCS right after an abortion.

Our Children in the Crosshairs - Once Again
The 40th annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras was held in Sydney recently. Bill Muehlenberg looks at how Australia's public broadcaster, the ABC, is grooming children by introducing them to LGBTI ideology. Here are three truths you can take to the bank: -The radicals on the left have long known the value of targeting our children. -The ABC is a radical left outfit actively pushing the homosexual agenda. -Homosexuals have long been keen to recruit children into their militancy. All three of these truths I have been documenting for years now. For example, I have written numerous pieces now on the Australian broadcaster and how it pushes every leftist agenda item there is. And in my books I carefully document how children are being targeted by the homosexual activists. It is called recruitment. The militants know that if they can bypass parents and their unwanted values, and directly access children, they have a much better chance of winning them over to their various causes. This is standard operating procedure with the left.
Opposition to Surrogacy: Not Just a Religious Issue
I have often sought to make the case for concerns about surrogacy. It is problematic on so many levels. Like the other Assisted Reproductive Technologies, our scientific and technological abilities to do things are outstripping and outpacing our moral reflection on them. And in the process, plenty of harm is being done.
The Power of a Family's Love
I would like to share our son Joseph’s story in the hope of helping others who might find themselves in a similar situation. Joe’s journey so far has been one of hope and joy, fear and doubt, courage and trust, tears and anxiety, but most of all LOVE and the blessing of choosing LIFE over death. Joseph is our 11th child; he was born with a congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) where the left side of the heart is too small. He was born at the Canberra Birthing Centre on the 4th October, 2001. We all thought he was a normal, healthy baby just like his other siblings. We were definitely blissfully unaware of and unprepared for what lay ahead of us.
