Louise Milligan, we know, is a slayer of Catholic Cardinals.  Or seeks to be.  She is also a conspiracy theorist.  An even-handed investigative journalist, she ain't.  The rabbit holes she chooses to go down are highly selective.

The journalists Anthony Dowsley and Patrick Carlyon are outstanding practitioners of their craft.  They have written a must-read, cracking story of Australia's worst ever legal fiasco.  Naturally, it involves Victoria Police.

It was late 2019, and a coincidence of events saw Australian police forces, especially Victoria Police, under the pump.  2020 only got worse for our bungling coppers.  First there was the humiliation of the Pell case outcome, then the unconscionable thuggery of VicPol against its own citizenry, beamed around the world, and finally, the McMurdo excoriation.  Will things change?  Will the rogue force south of the Murray be set to rights?  Will anyone be punished?  This article was written in December 2019, and is published here now for the first time.

The editor of Quadrant magazine, Keith Windschuttle, as written a cracker of a book on the George Pell case.  It is much needed, in order to provide some balance in the face of the various tirades previously published by sworn enemies of Cardinal Pell's.  It should be read both by those who already know the case well, and by those who do not.

Louise Milligan, who sought to destroy the reputation of Cardinal George Pell, has written a new book.  She should have, instead, abjectly apologised for having written the first one.

When protest buses attacking Daniel Andrews get forced off the road by police, and when politicians abuse private sector executives for doing their jobs, there is clearly something very wrong with our public services.  It all goes back to an unhealthy 1980s obsession with privatisation and "new public management".

After a silent six months, the Pell haters are back on task, following the Cardinal's return to Rome.  The Cardinal's exoneration by the High Court will not satisfy many of us who are still determined to see that those who sought his crucifixion are themselves brought to justice.  The story just got murkier.

Victoria is now an international embarrassment to Australia.  Should we just ditch Victoria?

Victoria's police are very concerned about "optics".  Like all corporate institutions these days.  Well, it hasn't been a good week for Australia's police state.

Instead of insulting citizens who wish to protest their government's totalitarian lockdown, senior civil servants in Daniel Andrews' Victoria should just get on with doing their day jobs.
