Libby Emmons of the Canadian alt-news Post Millennial platform doesn’t pull any punches in her assessment of the way governments around the world have reacted to the Covid epidemic:
Civilization is fragile and our collective leaders are intent on destroying it. The American news media reinforces this idea, and the elected leaders reinforce the media view. Big tech companies parrot the talking points inciting fear and terror that the politicians and media continue to wield against the public and their freedoms.
Australia has become a continental detention centre.
Now, as the world moves into 2021, billed as “the year of vaccines”, we are being ushered into what the Last American Vagabond calls “the biosecurity state”. The new normal, as they say, will be anything but normal. Track and trace, no coffees (or much else) without Q code taps, health passports and the like all add up to a sinister mix. Whether some hidden force is organising all this is beside the point, and of secondary import. The fact that it is happening on our watch, with nary a blink from the populace, is the main story. We generally seem to be mostly going along with it, and not finding it in the least sinister.
According to Technocracy News:
Technocrats controlling the pandemic narrative have been feverishly working political backchannels to ensure that every human on planet earth will be forced into a vaccination routine that starts with one shot but will be open-ended for future shots.
Australia’s Prime Minister is on board with the mandatory vaccines push, probing the issue then retreating (for the moment) back in August. A vaccine should be “as mandatory as we can possibly make it”.
“We need the most extensive and comprehensive response to this to get Australia back to normal,” Morrison said, after announcing the vaccine would be free to all Australians.
https://www.technocracy.news/australian-pm-covid-19-vaccine-should-be-mandatory/
The giveaway line is “to get Australia back to normal”. What is going on?
Governments everywhere panicked and were suckered by public health officials into believing that there was a pandemic, that it was deadly, and that they would be blamed for the deaths that would follow unless they put their countries under house arrest, not once in many cases but twice. The public lies involved in all this are many and serious. Governments only pulled it off through a big lie that scared their populations witless. That and writing endless cheques to keep the newly poor well off, for a time at least.
But once in the trap, governments have been quite unable to extricate themselves from actions that have sapped our freedoms and impoverished us all. They have relied up till now on the utterly inexplicable deference shown by citizens towards their totalitarian decrees, but they cannot assume that people will not finally come to their senses and turn on them. They cannot and will not admit they were wrong. That could leave them open to the charge that they lied, covered up and caused needless deaths (suicides, missed cancer treatments, and the like), unemployment and bankruptcies. And lose them elections. (Though the evidence to date, from Queensland and New Zealand, is that perceived Covid strength has been a boon to awful, incumbent governments, or at least has not prevented them from retaining office).
So how will governments escape the trap? How will ScoMo escape the trap?
To date, they have all said that the hideous curbs on basic freedoms can only safely be lifted when either the virus goes away of its own accord, or through the arrival of a silver bullet vaccine. The former is impossible when the casedemic approach is constantly fed to the public through the airwaves and television screens. This is the daily dose of new “cases”, most of which are either false positive results to the tests used, or true positives recorded for people with either no symptoms at all or very mild symptoms.
The latter, a silver bullet vaccine, is also impossible. But governments, their Branch Covidian fellow travellers, the pro vaxxers among Big Pharma, the suppressers of truth among Big Tech platform companies and all the various useful idiots are going to lie about the vaccine. That is how they will pull it off, absent a media more inclined to seek the truth and report it than we have at the moment.
All these agents are so invested in the Covid fear scam, for a range of reasons, that they will have little choice other than to back in the vaccine-as-silver-bullet solution.
The Australian Government under Scott Morrison is part of the problem, and not part of the solution. Morrison is a paid up member of the Covid zealot brigade, what with North Korean/Cuban style travel bans, keeping Australians stranded overseas, endless cheersquading for lockdowner premiers and a total lack of moral fibre and backbone in relation to defending the Federation and the Australian economy against border closures. ScoMo’s point man on this issue, critical to his political survival – the one thing he cares about – is Greg Hunt. Greg’s last gig was to spruik the lies he may or may not believe about climate change. He did that for years. So he might just be the right man to spruik the next big Covid lie.
Hunt is already at it, building up political immunity, you might say, by lauding the ScoMo vaccine. That is the same one that so many of our more courageous Church leaders have been suggesting might have moral dilemmas – for using the cells of aborted babies. Here is Greg Hunt:
The world’s most advanced coronavirus vaccine won’t provide “absolute” immunity, but will likely give “protection” from the deadly disease for about five years.
Health Minister Greg Hunt has revealed he spoke directly with head of the AstraZeneca/Oxford University vaccine program Professor Sarah Gilbert about the potency of the drug, which is in stage three trials.
“(Prof Gilbert) said it’s likely to be, but we can’t say definitively, a multi-year defence in the order of five years as a guide, and it’s likely to give significant protection,” Mr Hunt said.
Mr Hunt said the precise efficacy of the Oxford University vaccine, which Australia has secured 33.8 million doses of, was “yet to be determined” through clinical trials.
“But the initial, and then the progressive results with immunity and T cells, antibodies are positive,” he said.
Mr Hunt said the promising vaccine meant Australia would see a “progressive capacity” to bring people from overseas, and for residents to travel overseas “more and more” as people are vaccinated.
“2021 is obviously the year of COVID vaccines in Australia,” he said.
This is the political silver bullet, the get out of gaol free card for governments, and not only ScoMo’s. It lets them off the hook, makes them out yet again to be heroes. The promise of a vaccine has also, of course, been linked to governments’ insistence on lockdowns, masks and distancing, all of which have scant scientific evidence to support their effectiveness. Those things are only worth doing if there is a vaccine coming.
The stakes are very high, politically. A vaccine means victory over the virus. No vaccine, no escape from lockdown, under the twisted logic of Covid decision making, and no economic and social respite. Summed up neatly thus:
‘Until we get a vaccine, normal life will not resume as we know it,’ said Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin.
The equation is that simple in the minds of the politicians. The stakes are also high for the businesses involved the race for the vaccine. The vaccine market has been estimated to be $35b. And the stakes are high for the vaccine zealots, like Bill Gates.
The Irish journalist Paul Cullen notes:
If 2020 was the year of the pandemic, 2021 is shaping up to be the year of the vaccine. Hundreds of vaccines are in development, 11 are already at phase three, being tested on thousands of humans, and the first three products are forecast to be ready by the end of this year.
Covid madness is giving way to vaccine madness. Dr Mike Yeadon explains the salient points in a short form interview.

There is also little doubt that most of the population believes – or has been led to believe – that a vaccine is a silver bullet solution to Covid. And politicians like ScoMo and Greg Hunt are only feeding this perception. Two authors at The Lancet have stated:
A popular assumption is that these vaccines will provide population immunity that can reduce transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and lead to a resumption of pre-COVID-19 “normalcy”.
Ignoring the fact that what the Irish PM says, and what many politicians seem to believe, is utter rubbish, there remains a small problem. It is in the vaccine fine print, neatly parked by vaccine optimists like Hunt and his appalling British counterpart, the leftie Cameroon Matt Hancock.
There are three things to realise about vaccines against coronaviruses.
One, they are not needed by most people. Two, they will not work for many people, where “work” means what most people expect it to mean – that they will stop them from getting sick. And three, and perhaps most importantly, they won’t protect many of the most vulnerable, the ones for whom we have gone through this hellhole experience to protect, the frail and infirm aged. Even Dr Fauci thinks that 50 per cent efficacy might be all that we should expect. He would be thrilled at 75 per cent, he said. That doesn’t sound to me like “suppression”, certainly not suppression defined as elimination.
Oops. The pollies had better hope that no one notices.
One writer has likened Covid vaccines to “glorified lemsip”. As Will Jones has noted:
William Haseltine in Forbes has looked at the trial protocols that four leading vaccine developers, Moderna, https://pfe-pfizercom-d8-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/2020-09/C4591001_Clinical_Protocol.pdf+&cd=6&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us#28">Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson, have published and drawn a shocking conclusion: none of them is aiming to produce a vaccine that prevents infection or reduces likelihood of death.
AstraZeneca is the company involved in developing the vaccine for Australia. The one being talked up by Greg Hunt. The one that I fully believe the Government will use as its escape clause to end the lockdowns, border closures, travel bans, social distancing and pressure to wear masks. They might keep the last few, of course, just to keep us all on our toes.
Some brave and smart NSW police officers have written an open letter to the NSW Police Commissioner arguing against lockdowns. Here is what they say about AstraZeneca:
AstraZeneca has been found guilty of offences relating to off-label or unapproved promotion of medical products, making false claims, kickbacks and bribery, consumer protection violation, healthcare offences, government-contracting violations and more. Since 2000 they have been fined over US$1.1billion dollars for these offences and violations. Still, they have been granted protection from future product liability claims relating to its COVID-19 vaccine. Alarmingly, Prime Minister Scott Morrison stated they will make the vaccine “as mandatory as you can possibly make it”, in spite of the criminal record of its producer, their exemption from liability claims, the fact we already have at least two approved and extremely safe medications in Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine; shown to be effective treatments and the reality that the virus does not pose a serious threat to the healthy. It seems these decisions appear to be corporate interests, not in the best interests of public health and wellbeing as is claimed.
Here is Haseltine on the prospects of vaccines saving the day:
Prevention of infection is not a criterion for success for any of these vaccines. In fact, their endpoints all require confirmed infections and all those they will include in the analysis for success, the only difference being the severity of symptoms between the vaccinated and unvaccinated. Measuring differences amongst only those infected by SARS-CoV-2 underscores the implicit conclusion that the vaccines are not expected to prevent infection, only modify symptoms of those infected.
We all expect an effective vaccine to prevent serious illness if infected. Three of the vaccine protocols – Moderna, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca – do not require that their vaccine prevent serious disease only that they prevent moderate symptoms which may be as mild as cough, or headache.
It appears that all the pharmaceutical companies assume that the vaccine will never prevent infection. Their criteria for approval is the difference in symptoms between an infected control group and an infected vaccine group. They do not measure the difference between infection and non-infection as a primary motivation.
A greater concern for the millions of older people and those with pre-existing conditions is whether these trials test the vaccine’s ability to prevent severe illness and death. Again we find that severe illness and death are only secondary objectives in these trials. None list the prevention of death and hospitalisation as a critically important barrier.
Will Jones concludes:
What it means, though, is that these companies are not creating what most people assume they are creating, namely something that bestows immunity or at least reduces the risk of death. The fact that the prevention of hospitalisation and death – the only reason people are really concerned about Covid, after all – is not a primary aim of the vaccine development is somewhat surprising.
No wonder Haseltine concludes the vaccines currently under trial “will not be the silver bullet needed to end the pandemic”. Do the politicians understand what they are getting? If not, it is incompetence of the highest order as they are wrecking their economies and steamrolling their people’s liberties awaiting drugs that are little more than a glorified version of Lemsip. If they do, why are they making their people languish in ruinous confinement awaiting what is essentially a placebo?
Hence lies, lies and more lies. The whole show is a con. Just like climate change, eh Greg.
The Australian Government and other governments will have to hope that people keep believing that vaccines will work, will prevent infection, and will save lives. All the evidence suggests otherwise, but that doesn’t mean that voters won’t give governments a pass for effort. After all, they have done this so far. But there is evidence of falling faith in vaccines. This from Michael Fumento in the USA:
Surveys have shown a continual decrease in enthusiasm for receiving what eventually pops out the Covid-19 vaccine pipeline. Only about half of Americans now say they would definitely get the vaccine if it were available now, down from almost three-fourths in May. The greatest concern: Potential side effects.
https://www.aier.org/article/how-spreading-covid-19-hysteria-will-backfire-for-the-covid-19-vaccine/
There are also fears about the degree to which countries are rushing vaccine development under huge implied political pressure. Vaccines normally take years to develop – safely. Another fear, not confined to anti vaxxers by any stretch, is that governments will coerce their citizens into having vaccines.
But the problems with vaccines are not only the risks involved in getting jabbed. Fumento again:
… word will eventually trickle down to the masses that because we’re in such a hurry to get any vaccine, the first one introduced in the U.S. could be as low as 50% effective, because that’s the standard set by the FDA. And wait, it gets worse. That only means effective in preventing infections. “None of the trials currently under way are designed to detect a reduction in any serious outcome such as hospital admissions, use of intensive care, or deaths. Nor are the vaccines being studied to determine whether they can interrupt transmission of the virus,” as Peter Doshi wrote in the October 21 British Medical Journal.
“Hospital admissions and deaths from Covid-19 are simply too uncommon in the population being studied for an effective vaccine to demonstrate statistically significant differences” in a clinical trial,” said Doshi, the drug development specialist at the University of Maryland’s School of Pharmacy. “The same is true of its ability to save lives or prevent transmission: the trials are not designed to find out.” So theoretically for whatever risk there is, on the reward side there may be nothing.
Oh dear.
This will require a very nuanced approach by governments determined to have vaccines rolled out widely so that they can end the social and economic pain of lockdown. For while many people have put up with lockdowns, and praised governments for them, it doesn’t mean they enjoy being locked down. It will be the same with vaccines. The goodwill towards governments could evaporate if they pulled the wrong levers at the wrong time, or pulled the right lever a little too hard. Making vaccines mandatory is likely to be a step way too far. Coronaviruses are not smallpox or polio, after all.
Fumento concludes:
Authoritarian governments can use various means plus ongoing terror campaigns to try to strong-arm people to get vaccinated. But more democratic nations may have serious problems. Any way you look, vaccines are no magic bullet.
Mind you, many democratic governments have found little pushback against some very, very authoritarian moves this year, brutally enforced as we have seen with the horrors of Victoria.
Placing all the chips on the vaccine, then, is a risky political strategy. But it remains the only way out for governments determined not to be blamed for the lockdowns. So expect the big lies about vaccines to be rolled out as soon as said vaccines appear. If they do.
ScoMo, the marketer’s marketer, will be banking on his Health Minister fronting the media to extol the virtues of vaccines, and straight facedly urging us to get on board in the national interest. Certainly in his Government’s interest, especially as ScoMo has bought into vaccine development big time.
All the while we will be asked to get on board with a placebo that is mostly not needed and will not stop people getting Covid. Or dying. Will we see through all the exaggerations, misleading promises, hidden inconvenient facts and false optimism? Will we realise they are knowingly spreading untruths? Well, we haven’t seen through all the lies so far. ScoMo’s escape plan, his get out of Covid gaol free card, might well be the right card to play. Especially if the compliant, suck-hole corporate media and the ABC continue to provide our governments with protection.
