Welcome to the Covid economy. Depleted incomes, smashed small businesses, bullshit jobs, a whole new platform for crony capitalism, deserted main streets. What's not to love?
The charge of being a conspiracy theorist is now poison. A conversation killer. Unfortunately, many dissenters from the State's line on many issues, not just Covid, are cowed by the charge. It is a trick.
2020 has seen the perfect storm of digitally powered, state driven totalitarianism. Benign, progressive, problem solving, utopian Big Tech has nudged us all towards an Orwellian dystopia of social control.
Conspiracy theorists are everywhere. Sometimes, though, they are called acute observers, social scientists, historians, critical thinkers. Governments and others may not have planned the Covid epidemic, but many with agendas are cashing in. Call them convergent opportunists.

I read in the local newspaper today that my local county commission basically placed me under house arrest as of 8 a.m. this morning. They say I can go out to get food or medical attention. All other actions that yesterday would have been considered normal human activity will be questioned. I reside in a Georgia county of 150,000 people that has 12 confirmed cases of Covid19, also known as coronavirus. Nevertheless, the county commission and the cities within the county are rushing to pass ordinances ordering all 150,000 of us to “voluntarily shelter in place” and mandatory closings of all “non-essential” businesses.
