Much has been made of our current Prime Minister’s absence from Australia during the ongoing and tragic bushfire crisis. And now of his less than heroic performance since his conscience/political nous got the better of him and he decided to come back and face the fire. Of course, he has been merely one of a number of politicians missing in action during the fires. Much has been made of the NSW Emergency Services Minister being in London during, well, an emergency. And not just any emergency. Now the NSW Opposition leader has tiptoed OS to escape the furnace. Are these people serious?
Peer-reviewed, Nobel Prize-awarded scientific research retracted
Written by Dave PellowePeople who consider “peer-reviewed science” alone or give it disproportionate weight when considering public policy are unhelpfully naive about the dynamic nature of science. They pour scorn on anyone questioning “peer-reviewed science” as a solid foundation for public policies with far-reaching social & economic ramifications.
Even with adjustments for longer, healthier living, the UN’s latest population figures show rapid aging and economic unpreparedness across the globe. By each of the three metrics used in the latest UN report on aging, only Africa is projected to avoid the harsh effects of aging in the coming decades, a world where the number of elderly is projected to more than double, reaching more than 1.5 billion.
Opposing same-sex marriage is not 'vilification'
Written by Neil FosterThe recent NSW decision of Passas v Comensoli [2019] NSWCATAP 298 (18 December 2019) provides an example of someone who has been penalised for “homosexual vilification” as a result of comments concerning same-sex marriage. However, it does provide clarification that merely to express disagreement with the introduction of same sex marriage does not amount to such vilification under NSW law.
One hope remains for George Cardinal Pell: that the High Court of Australia will overturn his guilty verdict.
Vatican's Christmas Concert and Mother Earth worship
Written by Kathy ClubbJust when we thought that the Christmas celebrations would provide a break from controversy, the Vatican disappointed yet again by honouring the Earth Mother at a Christmas concert.
Bishops' permission for Freemasonry was hiding in plain sight
Written by Kathy ClubbBack in July, I wrote an article for The Remnant on a Queensland priest who publically admits to having been a Freemason for more than a decade. While that is shocking enough, the most disturbing part of this story was that the priest claims to have a letter from the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, giving permission for Catholics to become Masons. Now evidence has come to light which suggests that, in fact, this is the official policy of the ACBC.
This welcome to country has no place in Christianity
Written by Dave PelloweI love my Catholic brothers & sisters in Christ so much. Christianity has so much to learn from them in this generation about our prophetic voice to the nations on issues of Biblical justice and in ministering to those affected by abortion. So it breaks my heart to see a moment of unfettered pagan idolatry at their Youth Festival in Perth in recent days.
In 2018, representatives of the Catholic Church signed a controversial accord with China known as the Sino-Vatican Provisional Agreement, which some say has escalated China's crackdown on Christians and other religious minorities. In this interview, China expert Steve Mosher explains what this agreement has meant for Chinese Catholics, whom retired Cardinal Joseph Zen of Hong Kong says have been "incredibly betrayed".
New Beijing report shows One-Child Policy aftershocks
Written by C-FAMA new Chinese government report shows devastating economic effects of Beijing’s brutal, 40-year family planning policy.
Banning 'conversion therapy' and the war on choice
Written by Bill MuehlenbergFaithful Catholics who had been scandalised by the presence of pagan idols during the Amazon Synod received another blow when Pope Francis apologised for their removal from the Church at Traspontina. However, only a little research reveals that the images which featured prominently during the Synod are traditionally associated with child sacrifice.
Here’s one the email I received from a single mum with a seven year old son which prompted me to call Marijke “Political Posting Mumma” Rancie.
Given its commitment to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, it is not unreasonable to question whether the Vatican intends to hold the line on contraception and abortion. In light of all this, it was highly disturbing to hear about new appointments to the redesigned John Paul II Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Sciences in Rome, and to read comments by its new president.
Last week’s article looked at the Fourth Revolution, as predicted by Plinio Corrêa de Oliviera in his classic book, Revolution and Counter-Revolution. This article follows up with a look at the Counter-Revolution: our practical response to the disorder we see around us.
Violating the First Commandment - Synodal style
Written by Kathy ClubbIdol worship was on full display in preparation for the Pan-Amazon synod, with the tacit approval of Pope Francis. Although the Synod hadn’t yet started, the celebration of pagan ceremonies added weight to the concerns being voiced by prominent prelates and laymen that the Synod will be a vehicle for apostasy.
It is not the imminent collapse of the earth that we should fear, but loony groups like Extinction Rebellion.
Revisiting Plinio Corrêa de Oliviera's Fourth Revolution
Written by Kathy ClubbDr Plinio Corrêa de Oliviera was the founder of the Brazilian Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP). His classic book, Revolution and Counter-Revolution was written in 1959 and was remarkably prescient in his description of the challenges which would one day face the Church.
Attacking the seal of confession in Australia
Written by Kathy ClubbLaws which mandated breaking the seal of the confessional were enacted in two Australian states last week. In Victoria, the penalty for failing to report child sexual abuse admitted in confession is up to three years imprisonment, while in Tasmania, the maximum penalty is 21 years’ in prison - which is the same penalty in that state for crimes such as rape.
Far from truly “secular” which used to mean the government neither imposed nor impeded personal beliefs, there is now an observable state-imposed belief system & worldview, and it’s fundamentally anti-Christian. Authentic Christianity is actually heretical to the political priests of relativism.
The Australian Church has undertaken a radical and dangerous approach to charting her future, in the form of Plenary 2020, which was instigated by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference in 2018.
