Vaccine Logic

Written by

There has never, ever been vaccine logic during the current pandemia.  There certainly isn't now.  While Victorians are grappling with new dictatorial powers seemingly about to be passed by its Parliament, the State to its immediate north has entered the vaccine twilight zone, with medical apartheid now extended indefinitely.

Let me get this straight.  Mayors in regional New South Wales are afraid of fully vaccinated Sydneysiders visiting their low-vaccinated regions.  The double jabbed are the lucky folks who now get to travel (legally) again out of Sydney, as of 1 November 2021.  Say it slowly and then let it sink in.  Regional mayors are afraid their people will catch the virus from the vaccinated.

Wherein lies the fear of the mayors?  The ABC has reported as follows:

Regional council leaders grappling with a rising number of COVID cases and lagging vaccination rates said they were disappointed when NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet declined to meet them ahead of the reopening to Sydneysiders tomorrow.

Local Government NSW president Linda Scott said mayors from the Hunter and mid-north coast sent an email to Mr Perrottet a fortnight ago, shortly after he was sworn in, requesting a meeting to discuss their concerns.

"These local government leaders continue to have concerns about the relatively low vaccination rates in their communities and they are eager to work with the state government on a more nuanced strategy for reopening Sydney to these regions."

The Premier has subsequently agreed to meet the fearful regional mayors.

God knows how scared they will be, come the day – it was to be 1 December – when the lepers are allowed to travel as well.  Oops, not so fast, lepers.  The Government is led by one who is on the record as saying that he (unlike Jacinda Ardern) is against having a two-tiered society.  This same Government has now announced – to no one’s surprise; this is the already much despised NSW Liberal Party, after all – that the now disgraced, previous Premier’s undertaking to grant freedom to everyone, not just to those who have received the Clot Shot, on the first day of summer, has been abandoned.  Until the State reaches a rate of vaccination (95 per cent) not reached anywhere else in the universe.  The non-vaxxers will now have to wait longer, possibly much longer.  And this Premier was meant to be more liberal than the one we just got rid of.  Less safetyist.

This is medical apartheid, Mr Premier, as Lyndall Dean and British Church leaders have so aptly put it.

The Dom claims that this latest piece of utter bastardry will incentivise the unvaccinated.  Clearly, he is not aware of recent polling done in Germany which shows that people are actually put off by these games, and are less inclined to get the jab when government so “incentivises” them.

According to a recent survey conducted on behalf of Germany’s Ministry for Health seeking to uncover the reasons as to why the unvaccinated public have so far not taken up the offer of a vaccine, 27% of respondents declared that vaccine passports will turn them away from getting vaccinated. Only 5% of those who answered the survey said that the introduction of vaccine passports would entice them to take a Covid jab. In addition, 86% of respondents mentioned that they will not receive the vaccine if politicians promise to lift Covid restrictions once a certain vaccine quota is attained.

Those polled probably feel that governments that steal our freedom then bribe us to get it back by playing to their lunatic rules do not deserve our collaboration.  I guess they hate the cynicism and the lying.  They hate being nudged towards conformism by those who despise them.

Thoughts, Ms Davies?  Apparently, Segregation Day lives on!

This diabolical outcome is partly, no doubt, as the result of the intervention of the deluded regional mayors who are pushing back against the Government’s puny steps towards restoring our rights and freedoms and re-booting the stricken economy of the State.  They have, in effect, formed an unholy alliance with the public health totalitarians in Sydney.  Their ill-conceived utterances will also ensure that the pain felt by regional businesses, especially the small businesses that haven’t already closed down, will continue as they are forced to exclude a third to a half of their customer base from entering their businesses.  Not to mention the workers they are losing through vaccine mandates.

Now, I know very little about Ms Scott.  I assume that she is an intelligent person.  She clearly has sufficient skills and experience to have ascended to the high office of President of Local Government New South Wales.  But what the hey?  Do not the mayors and their leader see how stupid they look?  It is the double vaccinated who are now allowed to travel between Sydney and the regions.  Vaccinated people, remember, don’t spread Covid, don’t get Covid, and don’t die from Covid.  That is the promise of the vaccines and the premise of the premiers.  It is the nature of a vaccine.  Isn’t it?  Perhaps they know something about the vaccines that Joe Punter in the street doesn’t.

Speaking of travel restrictions and dumb logic, the Queensland Government has decided that, not only do you have to be double vaccinated to cross the hard border, but you also have to have tested negative for Covid within 72 hours of your attempted border crossing.  Whoa! Wait a minute.  Don’t they trust the vaccines to stop the spread of Covid?  Let us assume that you are double vaccinated and you test positive prior to your attempt to enter Queensland.  Will you bother trying to cross the border?  No, you will not.  Clearly the Premier of Queensland has had an epiphany, perhaps along the lines of Boris Johnson’s.  Will Jones at The Daily Sceptic recently noted that:

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has admitted that the Covid vaccines do not prevent infection or transmission. Speaking to reporters on a visit to a Covid vaccination centre in London on Friday, the Prime Minister said that double vaccination provides “a lot of protection against serious illness and death” but does not protect against “catching the disease” or “passing it on”.

Ah, so the vaccines don’t work after all.  Why, then, cannot you not simply enter Queensland with a negative test and no vaccinations?  You are safe, you are not sick, you are not going kill off Queensland grannies.  Equally, why do regional mayors in New South Wales fear vaccinated Sydneysiders, if the vaccines work?  If intelligent regional New South Welshmen who have come to an informed decision about the risks of their getting Covid and, therefore, about the merits of getting the vaccine, are not afraid of in-coming hordes from Sydney, why should the mayors be worried?

That is vaccine logic for you.  We all (or at least a lot of us) do as we are told, in some cases on pain of losing our job if we don’t, and get the vaccine because – in theory – we are led to believe it will protect us from Covid.  Then you, our leaders, say, either you cannot enter our State (Queensland) if you don’t also test negative, or, we don’t want your vaccinated people to come to our region.  Please explain to me your apparent cognitive dissonance – holding two contradictory ideas simultaneously in your mind – about the efficacy of these vaccines you are forcing on us, to bribe us to act in certain ways in order to get our freedoms back.  The freedoms you stole from us.  You can’t have it both ways.  We have all played this percentage game and “rolled up our sleeves for Australia” because you told us the vaccines were the only way out of the Covid crisis.  You said that, over and over.  Yet now you won’t accept the vaccines as currency for free movement.  Please make up your minds.  If the vaccines work, open up the state and the country for all of us.  If they don’t work, tell us openly you were wrong, and then leave us all alone so we can reclaim what is left of our lives.

Remember that this so-called pandemic is not a real emergency on any sane person’s definition.  America’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s estimate of the Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) is as follows:

  • 0-19 years 99.997% survival rate
  • 20-49 years 99.98% survival rate
  • 50-69 years 99.55 survival rate
  • 70+ years 94.6% survival rate

In other words, hardly anyone who gets Covid dies from it.  Most do not get very sick.  A large number of people don’t even know they have it.  The hospitals are not overrun.  There is no public health emergency.  Almost as many people died from the flu in New South Wales in 2017 (494) than died from Covid (568 at the time of writing) over nearly double the time.  And vaccine dissidents – refuseniks, if you will – are constantly pilloried and insulted and denied their rights if they make a quite rational decision, in the light of these recovery numbers, not to take an untested, unapproved, ineffective, dangerous therapeutic drug.  Go figure.

If governments are willing to shut borders, create medical apartheid, crush businesses, fashion a surveillance state, brutalise citizens through their military-style police forces, shoot rubber bullets into people’s backs, stop you from leaving the country, impose curfews, for this kind of “crisis”, what on earth would they do if we ever had a real emergency?

Then there are the boosters, and the apparent emergence (or threat) of a new Delta Plus strain of Covid.  What happens to all the magic vaccination percentage numbers when the booster jabs start to roll out – as they now are?  Apart from showing that the vaccines don’t actually provide ongoing protection, doesn’t the arrival of the boosters suggest that, as has been the case with Israel, the definition of “fully vaccinated” will need to change, and that, as a result, the percentage of New South Wales citizens who get to have the freedoms of the vaxxed will plummet overnight?  And which strain of Covid will the booster actually protect against?  The Delta?  Or the new one?  Or none of them?  Then, will we need to get back to the jab-store to ensure the case-demic – for that is all that it is – remains under control, and all those sleep-deprived regional mayors can again rest easy in their beds at night?

Service NSW informs me that the boosters are not mandatory.  I beg your pardon.  Does this not suggest abject surrender to the virus and admission that the vaccine emperor now is utterly seen to be without clothes?  It turns out that the jab was, in fact, never going to be the way out of the Covid “crisis”.  The whole thing was a con.  So many lies, so much b.s.  The logic of their position has just gone out the window, through this one decision.  I just hope they see this.  The Governments.  The CHOs.  The spruikers.  The camp followers.  The third-rate journalists who berate the unvaccinated with spittle-flecked venom.

Why will they not learn just ONE simple lesson from the international experience?  (There are many to be learned for those who have ears, eyes and a brain).  As noted by Eugyppius:

All the vaccines are good for, is reducing [for a limited time] the likelihood of severe disease among the old and the vulnerable. It follows that only the old and the vulnerable should be vaccinated.

What an absolute mess.  No one even discusses the boosters.  It is as if we shouldn’t mention the need for boosters because doing do might force us to question the vaccines.  This is an epic policy fail, whether or not you believe – and, on the evidence, why wouldn’t we? – that Australia’s politicians, their media mates, health academics and lobbyists are on the take from Pfizer and the rest.

For the moment, let us simply stick to the idea that the mayors of regional New South Wales, and their mouthpieces in Sydney, are, with respect, very low information people.  And that they are all merely playing a game.  The great game of Covid positioning, Covid PR and Covid politics.  Meantime, they continue to mess with our lives, we all keep suffering, and I still cannot even see my family …
