Unforgiven

The late Frank Devine once said, during the debate over saying "sorry", that the Aborigines should just forgive us.  In the age of the politicisation of everything, of group rights, of cancel culture and of the rejection of Christian forgiveness in public life, Frank's implied hope is forlorn.  We are unforgiven, even when we have done nothing wrong, and they are a-coming for us.

The Illiberalism of Pro-Vaxxer “Liberals”

Those who have opposed lockdowns because of the impact they have on personal freedom should also be manning the barricades in relation to vaccine mandates, and not giving them a pass because they will help return life to "normal".

The first and principal duty of government is to protect the nation's citizenry.  Political philosophers back as far as Thomas Hobbes have understood this.  When governments embrace the culture of death, epitomised by abortion and euthanasia, they abrogate their most basic responsibility.  Worse, they abandon the most vulnerable in society.  No amount of post-modernist sophistry will ever change this.
